Prof. Dr.-Ing. Markus Schleser

Born in 1973 in Euskirchen, he studied mechanical engineering with a focus on manufacturing technology at RWTH Aachen University from 1993 to 2001. From 2001 to 2007, he worked as a research assistant, and from 2007 to 2013, he was a senior engineer at the Institute for Welding and Joining Technology (ISF) at RWTH Aachen, where he also completed his Ph.D. at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in 2008. In 2007, he completed advanced training to become a certified welding engineer. Since 2013, he has been a professor at FH Aachen in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics, specializing in joining and separation technology, as well as laser technology. Since 2018, he has been a co-founder and co-shareholder of LaVa-X GmbH. As a long-standing member of the German Welding Society (DVS), he has been serving on the board of the DVS Aachen district association since 2019
