Dr.-Ing. Dieter Siegele

Dr.-Ing. Dieter Siegele, born in 1952, studied mechanical engineering at the University of Karlsruhe and obtained his degree in 1978. He has been a scientific employee at Fraunhofer IWM since 1978 and obtained his doctorate in 1989. He has been in charge of the "component safety" division at Fraunhofer IWM since 2001. His research focuses on fracture and damage mechanics, on service life and integrity assessment of components as well as on numerical methods.
