Dr.-Ing. Oliver Engels

Oliver Engels, born in Cologne in 1988, studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University with a focus on production engineering. After graduating in 2014, he became a member of the laser beam welding department of the Institute of Welding and Joining Technology at RWTH Aachen University as a doctoral student and research engineer. His main focus is on laser beam-arc hybrid welding of large plate thicknesses. In 2014, he completed the training to become an International Welding Engineer. In 2020, Mr. Engels successfully completed his doctorate on the topic of laser submerged arc hybrid welding.
