Gerhard Posch studied Material Science at the University of Leoben before he obtained his doctor's d...Gerhard Posch studied Material Science at the University of Leoben before he obtained his doctor's degree in Mechanical Engineering at the Technical University of Graz. He started his career as a Product Manager at PEWAG Austria GmbH in 1997 and joined the Böhler Welding Group in 1999 where he was the General Manager of R&D, Quality Management and Application Technology at Böhler Schweißtechnik Austria GmbH. In 2011, he became the Manager of Welding Technology especially in the area of Power Generation at Fronius International GmbH. He has lectured welding technology at the University of Leoben since 2002, the welding of high-alloyed steels and nickel-base alloys at the University of Applied Sciences of Wels since 2005 and welding processes at the Technical University of Graz since 2010. He is an Austrian Delegate to the International Institute of Welding (IIW), the Chairman of IIW SC II-C and the President of the Austrian Society of Welding Technology (ÖGS). He has filed various patents and received the Franz Leitner Award from ASMET in 2005.
