Dr.-Ing. Thomas Hassel
Dr.-Ing. Thomas Hassel, born in 1969 in Merseburg/ Germany, graduated as a doctor engineer focused in materials science at the Leibniz University of Hanover/Germany in 2008. After his professional education as a mechanic in 1988 and his further academic studies of materials science, since 2001 he worked as a scientific assistant at the department of materials science of the Leibniz University of Hanover/Germany. Since 2008 he has been the head of the underwater technology center of the institute of materials science. His research fields are welding and cutting technologies, especially thermal electron beam treatment of materials.
