Prof. Dr. Oliver Hensel
Prof. Dr. Oliver Hensel, born in 1962 in Viersen, studied agricultural sciences at the Universities of Göttingen, Bonn and Stuttgart-Hohenheim, where he received his PhD in agricultural engineering in 1995 and worked as a research assistant. In 2004, he received a call for the C4 professorship in agricultural engineering at the University of Kassel, followed by an identical W3 call to the University of Göttingen in 2015 (rejected). He is still head of the Department of Agricultural Engineering at the University of Kassel with a focus on the use of electronics in agricultural machinery. Here, the focus is particularly on the use of acoustic sensors for equipment and process monitoring.
