Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Walther

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Frank Walther, born in 1970, studied mechanical engineering from 1992-1997, specializing in materials engineering at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern, obtained his doctorate in 2002 on the fatigue behavior of highly stressed ICE wheel steels and habilitated in materials engineering in 2007. In 2008-2010 he worked at Schaeffler AG in Central Development and since 2010 he has been Professor of Materials Testing Technology in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at TU Dortmund University. In the field of destructive and non-destructive material and component testing, he is involved in the metrological and testing determination of structure-property relationships of construction materials, taking into account the influencing variables of manufacturing, operational stress and corrosion.
