"Dr.-Ing. Thomas Uhlig, born in 1985, is a research assistant at the Chair of Composite Materials at Chemnitz University of Technology. He works on innovative alloy concepts for brazing and coating materials. He defended his diploma thesis on the topic: \""Contribution to the characterization of the melting behavior of Fe-V-Nb-C alloys\""in 2012. Already during his mechanical engineering studies with a focus on manufacturing technology and machine tool design he investigated the machinability of wear protection coatings."
