Dr.-Ing. Christian A. Binroth

Dr.-Ing. Christian A. Binroth, born 1953, studied, after the education as an industrial mechanic, material science at Chemnitz University/Germany and finished his diploma in 1979. After working for five years as a lecturer for material technology and testing at Chemnitz University of Applied Sciences, he joined the Bremen Institute for Applied Beam Technology (BIAS) in 1986. Until 1994, he was working on the field of laser material processing and laser systems technology. After finishing his doctoral thesis "Laser welding of aluminium with filler wire" in 1994 at Bremen University, Institute of Production Technology, in 1995 he joined the company Hugo Miebach GmbH, Welding Machines, as Head of R&D. His main involvement was the development of laser beam and resistance welding machines for coil joining in the steel industry and appendant weld process quality control systems. In 2000 he was promoted to the position of Vice General Manager, and in 2005 he became the Managing Director of the company.
