Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Jean Pierre Bergmann

Professor Dr.-Ing habil. Jean Pierre Bergmann graduated as Dottore of Engineering with honors at University of Ancona (Italy). He became welding engineer (EWE,IWE) and freelancer in welding companies in 1998. From 1999 to 2003, he worked as research associate and then senior engineer at the Chair of Metallic Materials at University of Bayreuth. In 2003 he received his doctorate in engineering from the University of Bayreuth. From 2003 to 2007, he was a senior engineer in the Production Technology Group at Technische Universität Ilmenau. In 2008, he received his habilitation and was awarded a teaching license in the scientific field of production technology at Technische Universität Ilmenau. From 2007 to 2010 he was head of the Laser Metal Processing department and then profit center manager Automotive Packaging at JENOPTIK Automatisierungstechnik GmbH in Jena. Since November 2010 he has been a university professor at TU Ilmenau.
