Seventh robot axis increases flexibility during welding of bulldozers and earthmovers
The Liebherr plant in Telfs/Austria enjoys
over 60% time savings over manual
welding using seven-axis welding robots.
Primarily right and left track roller frames
are welded for 40- to 60-tonne bulldozers
and earthmovers. Manual welding of these
components used to require three workstations
manned two or three shifts a day. This
plant now employs a total of eight robot systems
from igm Robotersysteme AG, Wiener
Neudorf/Austria, some of them for over two
decades.
