Electron beam technology in use at ITER in the worldâs largest research project
There are currently 7.6 billion people
living on this planet and it is predicted that
by the end of the century there will be 11
billion. As the global population increases,
so does our daily energy consumption. The
research project that is currently being established
at ITER (International Thermonuclear
Experimental Reactor; www.iter.
org) in the southern French city of Cadarache,
hopes to pave the way for mankind
to access a more climate-friendly, efficient
and safe energy source. The electron beam
technology plays a major role within the
scope of the experiment.
