Brazing tungsten carbide - Part 2: Brazing filler materials and fluxes for use with tungsten carbide
The most popular families of alloys for
the brazing of tungsten carbide are those
that contain silver. Such materials have the
benefit of low working temperatures, excellent
wetting characteristics, high shear and
tensile strength and, depending on their
composition, outstanding fatigue properties.
In addition, they are readily available in the
form of rod, wire, strip, foil (with and without
an interlayer of copper, a copper-nickel alloy
or a woven nickel mesh), pastes and the
multitude of specialised preform shapes demanded
by the end users.
